According to Apple, under certain circumstances, the screen on a limited number of iPad Air (3rd generation) devices may go blank permanently. A brief flicker or flash may appear before the screen goes blank.

Repair program covers no physical damage
In case the faulty iPad model has suffered any physical damage, Apple will fix that issue first and may charge additional for the repair.
Apple program doesn’t extend the standard warranty of the device
Programme is valid for up to two years after purchase
The programme covers affected devices for two years after the first retail sale of the unit.
Apple may restrict or limit repair to the original country or region of purchase
This means that you may only get your product repaired in the country where you purchased it and within 2 years after its first retail sale.
